Very quick to ship, considering it came from half way around the world. The Damascus pattern on the blade isn't as dark or pronounced as it is in the product photo, but it's there. I don't think this is true Damascus steel, but for the price I did not expect it to be. It's a beautiful knife. It's heavy and feels like it's well made and very sturdy. The blade was quite sharp when it arrived, and the handle is absolutely beautiful. I already have a large collection of kitchen knives, but if I decide I want all my knives to match some day I'll order a whole set from this seller. If you look at the pictures. This is the knife on the left. The one on the right is a Damascus steel knife from Japan. While the one on the right is a better knife, it cost me $98. This knife cost me less than $12. While this is no replacement for my expensive Japanese knife, for daily chopping, I'll be using this knife and saving my expensive knife for slicing sushi.
